A foldable Tyvek tote from a Hong Kong studio that has been running Kickstarter campaigns since 2015. Nineteen of them, most of them small. This one is the biggest they have ever had — 184 backers against a previous campaign that drew thirteen — and it is funded to nearly ten times its goal, with pledging open until 14 September 2026.
Maker: Arky Design, Hong Kong
Delivery risk: Eleven years and nineteen campaigns on the platform, with pre-production stated as complete and suppliers named — Kickstarter creator page.
This is a Watching page. Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not a purchase. Projects can be delayed or fail to deliver, and nothing here has been received by anyone.
Eleven years on the platform, and this is their breakout
The interesting number here is not the funding percentage. It is the shape of the maker’s history.
| Campaign | Backers | Updates |
|---|---|---|
| Arky Mercury luggage cover | 13 | 1 |
| Arky Somnus travel pillow | 32 | 2 |
| ARKY-05 Tyvek tote | 184 | 1 so far |
This studio has spent eleven years running campaigns that drew backers in the dozens. ARKY-05 has already drawn more than four times the previous one, with pledging open until 14 September 2026. For a maker this size, that is a different order of campaign from anything they have done.
Nineteen campaigns since June 2015 is also its own kind of evidence. Kickstarter removes creators who take money and disappear, and this account has been launching on the platform for over a decade without that happening.

What it is
A tote made from DuPont Tyvek — the same spun polyethylene used for courier envelopes and housewrap. It is chosen here for the reason it is chosen there: it is very light, it does not tear along a cut, and it sheds water. The bag folds flat into its own pocket, and comes in 25 litre and 45 litre versions.
The maker describes itself as “a small lifestyle bag design studio” whose core team has six years of professional bag manufacturing experience, working with ISO-certified factories. That is a modest description, and it matches the campaign history rather than overselling it — which is worth more than a bolder claim would be.
On production, the campaign states that Tyvek and hardware suppliers are already contracted, production and finishing standards are finalised, logistics are arranged, and pre-production is complete for an immediate start. These are commitments made in advance rather than results, but they are specific ones, and specific commitments are easier to hold a maker to later.
The tiers
| Tier | Kickstarter charges | Named as | Backers | Places left |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Super Early Bird, 25L | HK$306 | US$39 | 75 | 25 of 100 |
| Super Early Bird, 45L | HK$385 | US$49 | 68 | 32 of 100 |
| Early Bird, 45L | HK$462 | US$59 | 1 | — |
| Couple pack, 2× 45L | HK$738 | US$94 | 15 | — |
| Triple pack, 3× 45L | HK$1,083 | US$138 | 2 | — |
| Five-piece set, 45L | HK$1,796 | US$229 | 2 | — |
The tiers are named in US dollars and charged in Hong Kong dollars, and unlike some campaigns we have looked at, the two line up cleanly here at the pegged rate. All tiers ship worldwide and all state November 2026.
143 of the 184 backers are on the two Super Early Bird tiers, and both still have places left — 25 and 32 of 100, read on 3 September 2026 — so the cheapest entry has not yet run out. It is filling, though. On 23 August those same two tiers had 36 and 51 places left, so between them they took 20 more in five days. We said on 28 August that at that rate the cheaper of the two would run out before funding closes on 14 September. Ten days of data say otherwise. The 25L tier went from 36 places to 25 in that time, about one a day, and there are twelve days left. On the present rate it finishes the campaign with places still in it — so the cheapest entry is likely to be there for anyone who wants it. We are correcting our own forecast rather than deleting it, because a prediction that is quietly removed teaches a reader nothing.
Two things to budget for beyond the pledge
Shipping is paid after the campaign. Backers receive a PledgeBox survey once funding closes, and pay shipping then, calculated from the destination and the tier. The campaign publishes estimates but states plainly that they are “for reference only”. Goods move by sea or air depending on destination. One order ships to one address, so a multi-bag tier cannot be split between people.
There is no retail price to compare this against. The bag has not been sold anywhere before, so a reader cannot check whether HK$306 is a real discount the way they could with a product already on a shop shelf. The campaign is the only place this exists, which is normal for a launch and worth knowing before the countdown does the persuading.
What we could not check
No outside writer has handled this bag, and none can — it has not been produced. We found no independent coverage of it, which is what we expect at this stage.
We also looked for the maker’s own shop, to see whether earlier products are on sale there. The domain resolves but every page returns an error, so we could not confirm anything from it either way. That is a gap in what we can tell you, not a finding about the product.
Reasons to back it
- Nineteen campaigns since June 2015 — eleven years of launching on the platform
- The largest campaign this studio has run, by a factor of four, with pledging open until 14 September 2026
- Funded to 1,051% of its goal, so it will go ahead
- Tyvek is a known material with known behaviour, not a novel claim that needs proving
- Pre-production stated complete, with suppliers contracted and standards finalised
- Two sizes, worldwide shipping, and a stated delivery month on every tier
- The cheapest tiers still have places left
What is not settled yet
- Shipping is priced after the campaign, from published estimates the maker calls “for reference only”
- Nothing has been made; the stated delivery is November 2026
- Previous campaigns posted one and two updates each, so expect a quiet fulfilment rather than a chatty one
- No outside review exists, and no retail price exists to compare the pledge against
Where this leaves a buyer
A small studio with a long, quiet record on the platform, having its best campaign, selling a bag made from a material whose properties are already well understood. The pledge price is straightforward and the tiers line up with their own names. Budget for a shipping charge that arrives with the survey, and expect fulfilment updates to be sparse — that is how this maker has always run.
